“We were very lucky to have Karyn come into our school to share her incredible message of perseverance with my grade 6 class. Her story was very inspiring to all of the students who were hanging on her every word. Karyn has a great ability to communicate with her audience at their level while still delivering serious content. Even when she was describing her challenges throughout her journey the students felt comfortable enough to interact with her when discussing situations that were uncomfortable. Karyn was a pleasure to have in my classroom and there is no doubt she made a huge difference for my students who couldn’t stop talking about her. Thank you Karyn for your courage and for sharing your wonderful story with us.”

“I recently attended the Health and Wellness Holistic Panel hosted by BMO Stackt. Among the panelists that night was Karyn Inder, speaking on the topic of mental health and her involvement in the fashion industry. Mental health is an issue important me, but I sometimes find it difficult to share my own experience. When Karyn gave her story, I quickly felt much more comfortable. She is so authentic, in a way that leaves the room at ease with opening up. She is also incredibly funny! Karyn can deftly captivate her audience with humour, while simultaneously conveying the seriousness of her subject matter. Karyn Inder is fantastic story-teller, as well as an inspiring advocate for mental health. I look forward to attending any future events where she is involved!

“Karyn is an inspiring and impactful voice in the mental health industry that truthfully, we need more of. She is living proof that even as an ambitious and brilliant individual herself, anyone can be affected by mental illness and that it has no look to it. Her selflessness and yearning to help others reflect how much of a passionate advocate she is about stopping the stigma around mental health and ensuring people are getting the help they both need and deserve. I hope her story and relatable voice can be heard by many as it truly has the potential to save lives.”

“I really enjoyed listening to Karyn Inder's speech. I enjoyed her speech for three main reasons. First, she made me feel more confident in who I am (to have self-acceptance in ourselves) and she gave an awesome explanation on why everyone should always love themselves, and most importantly, taught everyone to have body confidence in however your body shape may be. Second, she taught others to block out the hatred messages out there, that are making us feel insecure, or less self-confident. Lastly, she taught us to never body shame ourselves, or body shame others. This makes everyone feel less confident in who they are, and it can lead to many other harmful issues if we body-shamed ourselves or body shaming others.

“I met Karyn through a friend at a time in my life where I couldn’t make sense of anything. I found
Karyn very heartfelt and genuine, immediately knowing she was someone I could trust and someone
who understood me. At the time, it seemed like no one else could comprehend what was wrong, and
all I heard from others is something like: ‘you’ll be okay, this will pass, you’re doing great.’ However,
these words of encouragement felt empty. When Karyn came to visit my husband and I, she gave me hope. Her story was interesting to listen to, different from mine, but a good perspective into another’s battle with mental health. It made me realize that mental health can hit anyone at anytime and that it’s no one’s fault. Her positivity and even sense of humour made me hopeful for my future with my career and with my husband. She is a great advocate for raising awareness of mental health.

“Karyn is the most passionate and selfless mental health advocate I've ever come across. When you're in crisis, you can feel at a loss as to who to call on for help, but Karyn always seems to be top of mind for me because of the safe, non-judgmental and empathetic person she is. I called Karyn during a deep dissociation and depressive crisis and she stayed on the phone with me for 1.5 hours, both providing me with strategies and support, and also normalizing how I was feeling. In the days that followed, when I realized it was time to call in support, she provided insight as to how to advocate for your mental health (which helped me see a doctor that day opposed to waiting two weeks) and also answered all of the questions and concerns I had about going on medication. Overall, Karyn made me feel so much less alone on what is an incredibly isolating experience and I'm not sure I would've been able to get on the path to a supportive and healing journey without her help. Thank you, Karyn. I'm forever grateful for you!

“My favourite guest speaker was Karyn Inder. I believe she taught a very important message that isn't communicated very often. She read a quote that touched my heart, "beautiful is the person reading this." I believe this is such an important message because many people feel ashamed of themselves and are always looking for ways to have the perfect body. This presentation taught me that we are more than a number on a scale, and we should celebrate each other. I think body image is a topic that many people feel ashamed and embarrassed to talk about. She brought up a topic that was very eye-opening to me. There are always these advertisements about having the perfect beach body. She pointed out that everyone has a beach body as long as you put on a bathing suit. I think this is something that everyone should realize and think about as most of us criticize ourselves every day when we should be embracing our beauty.”

“I have found Karyn to be so full of information and insight, she is such a safe space. After following her Instagram, I started recognizing that maybe my ‘normal’ was worth looking into. I was frightened at the thought of being officially diagnosed, but Karyn was so helpful and reassuring. She helped me find the resources I needed in order to take the next step in helping myself and becoming my own self advocate. She is a wealth of information, compassion, and works hard to advocate for mental health awareness. If you are curious about the mental health of someone you love, know, or even yourself, I think you will find Karyn really really helpful.”

“I had no idea what I was going through or what was happening until I spoke to Karyn. She reassured me that I was not alone and provided some resources that helped me realize there was help available. She helped me understand what I was experiencing, and laid out the steps I needed to do in order to gain control and live a better life.”

“Karyn is a great friend but is also much more than that, she is always there to listen and help me process what is going on. She truly understands and because she is so easy to talk to, I've overcome so much with her guidance and support. I would pay her to be my friend!
Karyn is also the Mental Health Advisor for my foundation, The All Womxn Project. Her input and help is always welcome and needed, we love having her by our side! She has so much empathy, experience and knowledge. She's truly one I need by my side- especially when going through something that is affecting my mental health.
Karyn's help has truly made a difference in my personal growth and mental health, even being 3000 miles away, her support means everything.”

“There is not enough kindness that can be said about Karyn Inder. A women who knows struggle, hard work, success and failure, Karyn has the strength and the mind to overcome all that fronts her. She speaks of a community that has little voice in the world of self love, positivity and normalcy, and she tackles this void with a strong heart and a steady mind. Karyn speaks of her struggles and experiences with mental illness with a passion to ignite others with the ability to feel less alone, to feel safe, to just feel. I am drawn towards the light she exudes and know that whatever may come my way, whether she has felt it herself or not, Karyn is the person with the heart to understand, to empathize, and to make me feel light again.

“Karyn was the first person I thought of to call when I walked out of the hospital, leaving my 13yr old daughter behind in the “psych ward”. She had been suicidal and we went to the hospital to keep her safe. This was my first experience with this and I needed guidance, perspective and an idea of expectations. I knew Karyn could offer that to me. And I knew Karyn would be gentle, honest, and make me laugh. Keeping it light, but lay it all out for me. I could ask questions of someone who had these experiences and been through the protocols. I felt calm, even in the intensity of the moment.”
